Nicole Takeda is originally from the Philippines who is now currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. She creates digital composites, photographs portraits and still lifes but with a bit of a twist. Nicole tends to find quirks and charm in anything and everything. This makes her interested in enhancing flaws of her stills and models because that is what fascinates her when it comes to her subjects. She captures what is visually pleasing to her eyes; which can range from the deterioration of flowers to a scar or even a freckle on someone’s body. She finds that those kinds of traits makes her subjects more compelling and makes the audience think and ask questions like the why’s and how’s.

Nicole is very much intrigued by the experimental platform in photography because of the limitless possibilities it offers. The freedom of using different mediums and techniques appealed to her curiosity; be it by making digital tintypes, collages, transfers or digital illustrations. This gives her the ability to combine both classical and experimental approach when it comes to her work.

Nicole attended Nassau Community College to get her Associates Degree and has graduated from School of Visual Arts obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Photography and Video.

Her work was featured at the fotofoto gallery in Huntington, New York, the Fire House gallery in Garden City, New York and Shape Shifter Lab in Brooklyn, New York.
